It took only 5 minutes to walk to Gerard Street bus stop.
Shame the bathroom was very tiny.

I would say it's wonderful base for staying and exploring Derby. The location it offers is convenient, so close to the outskirts of Derby, both the train station and shops, and the center of town. Every time in Derby, I choose this place.

The breakfast offered a nice cooked-to-order full English, fresh tea, and coffee. The family room had mismatched but clean bedding and basic tea and coffee making facilities.
The room felt very dated with old carpets, and there was a significant draft from the window even when closed. The shower was temperamental, occasionally delivering cold water and lacking a plug in the basin. The bathroom door handle needed fixing, and some common areas displayed signs of neglect, like mould on the ceilings. Parking was limited and could be a hassle, requiring guests to balance their vehicles to fit others in.

The lack of heating. The bathroom situation was tight with poor shower pressure and basic cleaning needed throughout!!! Staff could improve response time for issues too!!!

The friendly staff really made a difference, and the kids loved the big room to play in. A comfy stay for our large family.
My kids wished the hotel had more family-friendly amenities, like a play area or pool.

Disappointing Experience with Serious Issues
The room was shabby, with stained carpets and an unacceptable bathroom setup. The lack of a proper shower and the presence of mould made it barely livable. If you're looking for a budget option, consider staying elsewhere, especially if you value cleanliness.

This place suits me perfectly! It has free wi-fi in rooms, an electric kettle, and no smoking on site. I remember when the staff helped me with bug spray during my first stay. I highly recommend it for a holiday!
